The Lousy Bums - When i recorded the Helper Monkeys Jaz also wanted me to record the Lousy Bums, another band he was in. He told me that he was jamming with Dave Downy (of the Lizards), Ed Hunter (Los Huevos), and a girl named Kim. I couldnt believe what he was telling me, i LOVED the Lizards. I finally felt like i was tapping into the best part of Sacramento.

They also practiced at Jaz's place in Carmichale CA so i was already familiar with how to setup; drums in the jam room, bass cabinet in between the jam room and the garage, guitar amp out in the garage. Since Dave and Ed both played guitar we decided to overdub Ed's tracks after, which i dont think he cared too much for that. the result was great however and the songs speak for themselves. i have so many favorite songs on this album, Spaceboy and Penguin Lust are a couple of top tracks.

Just between these two recordings, Helper Monkeys and Lousy Bums, i learned alot about how to run a recording session, even as a fan. Later Kim left the Lousy Bums and they needed a bass player so i joined for a short lived time. That was fun.
